David J. Malis

MD, FACS, FAAP

Manager and Chief Executive Officer, Ballistipax, LLC

Dr. David J. Malis received his undergraduate training and ROTC commission in the United States Army at Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and his medical doctorate from The Medical College of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. David then entered active duty in the U.S. Army and received his residency training in Otolaryngology at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas; this was followed by Fellowship training in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Children’s Hospital & Health Center, San Diego, California. David served over 15 years on active duty in the U.S. Army culminating in his last duty assignment as Chief, Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery Service, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C. Throughout his military career, David had the honor of serving with and providing medical care to active duty service members and their families, from infants to military retirees. David’s military awards include the Parachutist Badge, Meritorious Service Medal (1 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal (5 Oak Leaf Clusters), and Army Achievement Medal (3 Oak Leaf Clusters). After departing the Army, David has been in private medical practice since 2004.


In October 2016, David formed Ballistipax founded on the core values of honesty, integrity, and selflessness and whose continued motivation has been to provide the highest quality innovative products to protect life and limb. Ballistipax’s focus is on functionality of products and services for real-life situations, simplicity of form, and to identify and deliver well-designed and practical solutions that work in times when failure is not an option.


David---along with every member of Ballistipax---holds our products and ourselves to the highest standards because safety has no room for error. Ballistipax’s mantra is quite simple: It is not good enough for your loved ones until it is good enough for our loved ones. Period.

David J. Malis

Ryan Comparato

Vice President, Business Development, Ballistipax, LLC

Ryan Comparato is a native Floridian with over 20 years dedicated to developing products and businesses across a wide section of the overall marketplace. His passion for both existing and emerging markets have allowed him to work in a variety of capacities while developing business models that have and maintain a global reach to their customers.


Some of the most memorable industries Ryan has been a part of over the past 20+ years have been in Telecommunications, Maritime VSAT, Scholastic Products, and Manufacturing.


In 2018 Ryan was given the opportunity to join Ballistipax as their VP of Business Development, and maintains that position today. He sees this as his last great professional opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people. This is because of the positive impact he sees the business having on the safety and security of every Ballistipax customer.


Ryan and his wife both attended College in the great state of Florida. Ryan holds a bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, and his wife, a degree in Criminal Law. He and his wife have one beautiful daughter together, and an extremely spoiled golden retriever, named Jax.

Mark Mynheir

Tactical Product Manager, Ballistipax, LLC

Mark Mynheir is a former Marine and has worked in law enforcement for over thirty years, and he has served in a variety of roles, including, as a SWAT Team member, firearms and defensive tactics instructor, a narcotics agent, homicide detective, task force agent with the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF), and most recently as a Special Agent with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Mark is also the author of seven books and teaches at law enforcement and writing venues across the country.
